Marks & Spencer; Sanctimonious Sods
Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 3:17PM
I made the last purchase of my life at Marks & Spencer the other day when they attempted to charge me 5p for a plastic carrier bag telling me, "but the money goes to charity."
Here's a newsflash for M&S. You sell goods to people like me and we are called your customers. We pay you for the goods and you make a profit. What you don't do is adopt a self important sanctimonious air and start dictating to me, now your ex customer, when, how and to whom I will donate money to. Your CEO and chairman might well want to tick the green treehugger box on the "K," nomination form but if you cared that much about the planet there is much more that you could do rather than blag 5p off the travelling public like me at service stations.
No wonder men shop on the internet.
